Hi all,
this is only a maybe!!!! but, we are thinking about selling our romahome demountable and getting something slightly bigger.
It is a 2000 x reg daihatsu hijet 1.3 petrol.
If anyone is interested, PM me and i'll let you know whats going on. send photo's etc
As I say, it is only a MAYBE at this time, we don't really want to sell but....................
Hope all the regulars around here are well, I keep popping in every so often, just to see whats what.

Hi Glen
If you sell your van, I hope you'll stick around the forum. What sort of replacement are you thinking of?

Hi Graham,
Don't worry, you'll not get rid of us that easily.!! :-)
We've just been looking around generally and have seen a couple of vans we like the look of. 1 is a jap import and the other is a romahome quartet. We want something that has just a little more space, we like to move around rather than staying on 1 site and packing/unpacking does get a little tedious. we also like to take our bikes with us and they take up too much room so maybe a rear cycle rack would be useful ( not sure if the quartet will be ok with this). An loo /shower would be nice too for the odd night wild camping.
it really is early days, hence no price etc listed, we still love our romahome !!!
we'll see what happens

well, it looks as though the maybe has become have!!
A dealer has given us a decent trade in price against a bigger van, we just need to sort out the finance side of things now! I'm thinking that I should apply for that tv programme where you get paid to open a box too!! ;-)

Sorry, forgot to tell you that bit! We decided on the Japanese imported Toyota hilux coachbuilt. Its at a local Japanese import dealer, has 9600 miles on a 1992 diesel 2.8l. Its quite a bit bigger than our romahome, having a fixed over cab bed ( no more taking the bed down every morning!! ;D). Its also got a small shower/toilet room, on board water tanks, a petrol generator, and heating! Its going to feel like a palace!!. It will sad to see the romahome go, we've loved doing her up and the time we've spent away in her but she was just a little too small for our needs. I hope we are still OK to stick around under the small motorhome banner, the new one ain't that big look! I'm going to leave the window sticker thing for the forum/website in the romahome, you never know, the new owner may join us! Glen

Its a very smart looking van and pretty unique, don't think I've seen one quite like it. You are certainly welcome to stick around we like a diverse range of subscribers.
Bet you can't wait to get out on the road.

Hi jayjay, was wondering if you were still around! How did the house move go? did you keep your romahome on, last I heard was you were struggling to get a parking space for it??

Glen Great idea Glen Your new van looks lovely, is it going to be the Honeymoon Hotel? It has the look of a Quartet but more robust, a sort of 'toughed up' Quartet ;D Bet you can't wait to get out and about in it, there is no chance of us passing you now, not like we did on the M42 on the way to Wolverley!

Hi Glen. Your new camper looks great. Good luck with it. We have upgraded our Roma with a newer one but still have the older one on the drive for sale. Penny

What on earth ?? What mpg will that return? I presume the spare wheel on the front bumper is for those little misjudgements when parking!

Hi Glen. Your new camper looks great. Good luck with it. We have upgraded our Roma with a newer one but still have the older one on the drive for sale. Penny Thanks Penny, hope you are both well! We were lucky to get a very reasonable ( in our opinion!!) trade in, we just need to avoid Ebay for the next few weeks, as this is where the trader is going to advertise it!! We don't want to know what he gets for it! hope the new roma is as good as you hoped and good luck with the sale of the old one

What on earth ?? What mpg will that return? I presume the spare wheel on the front bumper is for those little misjudgements when parking! Its a fairly unique vehicle I think, being a japanese import. MPG is difficult to find out, most website list figures around the 30mpg mark, we weren't getting much more than that from our roma!! I don't do parking misjudgements so the tyre on the front must be to help nudge lesser motorhomes out of the mud on grass sites or to push slowlaners out of the way!!! ;D
