Viv

I suppose you are not allowed to spill the beans on the R25, but what was the head height like? Hopefully higher than the R20.
I'll have to wait until NEC.

Sounds fantastic, shame they didn't do it on a weekend but it sounds like a lot of folk managed to get there.

You and Terry could be turning up at the next meet in a R25 by the sounds of it. We are hoping to get a glimpse at the NEC show, looking forward to it.

Hi Graham

After a lot of thought we have decided that the new van is probably 'not for us' YET. However if grandson starts to camp with us then we may have to reconsider, but at the moment we are happy in our tiny Outlook.

I am sure the new one will be very successful as it is neat, slick, reasonably priced and looks stunning. The choice of fabrics is lovely too. By the way we could both fully stand up in it as floor level is same throughout.

Maybe we will see you at the NEC, when are you going?

I was wondering if anybody had more details on the new van and even better some photos?

Yup,

We were there, ;D but did not stumble across any other forumers. Perhaps a forum flag for the van is called for in future :D

pictures of the meet attached (I hope), never seen so many Romahomes in one place, at a guess about 80 plus (any advance), all shapes and sizes - demountables; c15 hitops and HyLos; Berlingo Duo, Outlook, HyLo, and even a Quartet; Dimensions (mark 1 and 2), at least one R10; (but no R40's), plus a few interlopers of other makes.

[img=http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/6211/dscn9737.th.jpg]

Not sure if I am supposed to show this before the NEC, so "look away now"

[img=http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/2403/dscn9795.th.jpg]

Pauline, I don't know how to make the pictures (rather than the link) appear, perhaps a simple explanation might help me, otherwise you will have to follow the links.

Lots more piccies, but no time now

Barry

We were there but did not see you despite having our names displayed so well. What a lovely time we had. We did watch out for you but as there were so many we must have missed you. We did meet sotontraveller though and I am sure she will be in here at some time.

What a nice display of Romahomes there was. Loved the little one with the flowers!

Nice new van as well.

Trouble was, we had our real names on the badges, not forum names. I bumped into an old aquaintance (who I did not know as a Romahomer) and only after chatting for a few minutes did we find out we are both members of the forum! (I hope you had a good journey home John.)

Yes I liked the van with flowers, lead light windows and shutters.

I don't think SWMBO will allow me to do likewise with the Dimension! :o

Hi Viv

We are going either Friday or Saturday depending on whether we have any little ones to look after on the Friday.

Hi Barry

We are away in the van at the moment and Pauline is busy cooking the tea, so if you don't mind I will reply for her.

I have posted a (hopefully) simple explanation of how to put pictures on the forum HERE

Hope that helps

The bike rack seems very well designed as far as i can see. I don't cycle so can't really say but it looks easy to use.

Like many others I have already designed my own interior to fit a R20 (which is as large as I want to go), but unfortunately do not have £millions to have my own built for me nor the skill to convert my own van. Nothing will meet everyone's needs but the compromises are very well thought out. We all have different ideas and needs hence the success of the very versatile Romahomes.

My little baby will do me for the moment.

Before you get too carried away (control yourself woman :o ), have a close look at the rack to see if YOUR bike(s) will fit the rack. It is based on a standard Fiamma (?) two channel support rack and the channels seem VERY close together. Romahome's clever bit is in adapting the rack to fit the vehicle, allowing it to slide in/out to gain access to the rear door.

The trouble we have had in the past with trying to fit two dis-similar, full size touring bikes with pannier racks, bottle cages, lights, bells, hooters etc (she has more equipment mounted on her handlebars than you would think possible ??? ) onto a standard channel type support rack was that the bikes need to be separated in order for the cranks, bars and saddles etc not to clash. On the back of our car, we have to use a three channel rack, employing racks 1 and 3 for them to fit.

Your requirements (and bikes) may be totally different. Another case of "try before you buy" ;)

Roamingsue

If you look carefully at Barrys' picture the beds look made up, also you can see an LCD TV in the down position.
Will be at NEC on day one and if it is as good as they say I will be a lot poorer.... all ready to follow the Tour de France next year.

Nobody has said very much about the new Romahome. Guys it is very unlikely I will be able to go to the motorhome show and I really would like a few more details.... what is it like inside? Are the beds good? Nobody is enthusing very much so is it a damp squib? P

Hope these pics come out....

The bike rack slides out for access to the back door.
There are 6 upholstery colours and 4 door colour finishes.
The lighting makes the pics more yellow than it is, it is more a pale cream.

Dear Tony,

Thanks for great pictures. A few questions if I may.

What did you think of the shower/toilet, size etc?
Is the toilet a cassette or porta potti?
Are there four belted seats?
Is an oven fitted?
Is there an extractor fan over the hob and in the shower?
Is the tall door just by the back door a wardrobe or the shower/toilet?
What is the price? ( I don't mean any deal that you have done).

You may not have noticed all these things, I appreciate that.

Many thanks,

Neil Evans.

Neil

It has a Dometic Cassette toilet which "looks" like this:
http://www.dometic.com/enie/Internationa....t-Best-in-test/

positioned behind two half height doors, with an "option" of a wetroom consisting of a hand-held shower and cleverly sited shower tray under a section of floor. A privacy curtain is also provided

Two additional inertia reel belts are an "option"

There is no oven, a hob and grill are standard

An extractor is an "option" on the rear skylight

The door at rear is wardrobe

On the road basic price is £29995

I went for bike rack,TV, seat belts, cab air con(Webasto hot water and heating are standard) reversing camera, and a "luxury" electric step for me when I go senile.

The total price was very pleasing for such a great vehicle.

Many thanks Tony, I appreciate you answering my questions. No doubt there are others hanging on your every word as well.

Cab air con is essential I think.

Enjoy your new purchase.

Neil.

Thanks Graham

Only one problem, I decided in my wisdom to wait for the new reg in March , I know the VAT could go up on the balance but a new plate was too tempting... how will I survive!
By the way the head height in the R25 is high! and the double bed format is 5' 7" long, and I'm 5'8"tall!

Sue

Did'nt have the chance to try it in bed mode, it was like Picadilly Circus up there!
However the seats were very comfy and you have the option of a double bed across the van or two singles using the "specially flattenable" (according to Romy Big Boss Brian) cab seats

We arrived back from NEC this afternoon, what a lovely venue it was, easy to find and so well organised.

We had another look at the R25 but alas, it is not what we had hoped for. We prefer the layout of the Nu Venture Surf with its side door, same level floor throughout and dedicated but small loo cubicle. The R25 does not offer us any more than we have in our Outlook ie two ring hob, grill, fridge, just more modern and spacious with the extra passenger seats. We also prefer the bed layout of the Outlook.

If the quality of the Nu Venture was the same as the Romahome we would have bought one without hesitation. Just wish the new Romahome had used the extra space in a different way. A loo with a curtain in middle of rear area does not suit me, but there we go! I will have to keep looking.

We all want different things and I wish Romahome well with their new vehicle and I am sure it will sell well and be popular.
