Thanks Pauline for your kind enquiry. Luckily for us we live on quite a steep hill with views, so we hope flooding is not a problem we will ever have to face. You never think of these things when you move house do you?
We hope our water supply is safe too. We don't think it will be affected - yet! But 350,000 people in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Cheltenham may be. Who'd have thought it in a British summer!
We hope no other members of the forum are likely to be affected.

Hi, my step-daughter lives in Gloucester and their water will be affected, so they have filled up the bath and loads of bottles, electric went off as I was speaking to her, and she has 6 children, 4 who are small. Hoping to visit Tuesday, and will take her camping stove and gas bottle etc just in case. But she isnt flooded out. But I believe the town centre is being evacuated this afternoon.

Good to hear that you are safe Mike Joan, it's just been on the news that midnight will been the high point for the rivers as they fill from the hills. Hope your step daughter is ok, it must be an awful thing to experience more so with very young children.

YOU KNOW WE ALL GRIPE ABOUT THE RAIN SPOILING OUR TRIPS, OR PUTING THEM ON HOLD. But when you here of the flood damage, and every thing that goes with it, we come back down to earth. I PRAY THAT ALL WILL BE OK SOON, AND THAT ALL WILL BE SAFE. Do you think that it is time the gov looked at this problem, fully and got there act together. After all they are the guys in the know, I think they should rethink all water defences. And the new PM should put his finger in the ?( holand )
