I think you might struggle a bit on your own especially if it is a bit windy. We normally put the poles through together and I hang on to it while Roger gets the first pegs in. Then I leave him to do all the hard work! [/quote] Moya 'hard work' I'm getting worried!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me also - booked Sue & I in for the Frid & Sat nights - £44.60 as non-members!! I really do think these prices are extortionate - and maybe we should look at not only C&CC sites for our next meet? I'm sure it's possible for a small group to camp, with EHU, at a more realistic price. Any thoughts? Mike

Yamaha That is a lot, I paid £24.90 for both of us for the two nights with the age concession. It is £33 to join so it might be worth considering joining as it would only cost an extra £13 and you could use their sites all year. Hope I have got my figures right! Off season and with the concession they are quite cheap - not so in the high season.
I hope you had a lovely festive season. Viv

Has anyone booked online ? thinking of booking our pitch tonight but do I need to mention Small Motorhomes in the additional details bit. Only used c&cc once so far.
SOme of the CC sites have £6 pitches at some of their sites if anyone else is a member always a way to save money. I like the fact you don't have to pay a deposit too as the C&CC seem to charge such a hefty deposit.
Lovely site in Mid-Wales too although the pub is a walk away but lovely and quiet. Think it is £9.50 with electric this year.
Looking forward to meeting you all. Start a new job on Monday lol so will be putting holidays in quite quickly (can always say they were pre-arranged before I applied) as they didn't ask me about holidays.

Viv, you took the words out of my mouth. If Mike had joined before Chipping Norton meet he would have saved his membership fee by now! Jana, we booked online, but then John phoned the site to mention Small Motorhomes, so I think you could try putting it in the additional details box as they are aware of us now. I'm sure that we can all get together even if we are spread around. After all the site isn't that big! We could always get Pauline to make a flag to fly Looking forward to meeting all of you in March.

Right done the booking online have stated we are coming with Small Motorhome Forum.
I am sorry but am I the only one who thinks the C&CC have a cheek to charge £25 deposit when the total booking is £33.30. Deposit of one nights pitch is fair enough and cancellation of the rest of the booking if you fail to arrive as planned but this has to be about 75% of the charge.
We have a site night voucher from joining at NEC but have paid most of it now. Anyone had experience of using a site night voucher on a one or two night booking. We all moan about the CC but we went to Abbey Wood recently bought 2 site night vouchers of Ebay and arrived and the warden took them for 2 of the weekend (dearest) nights. Thumbs up for CC.
Looking forward to Devizes though and looking forward to meeting you all.

Are you booking 2 pitches, Lunnie? If so, I would guess that it is £25 deposit per pitch and as the total (per pitch) is less than £25 then you pay in full. We paid £24.90 as that was our total.

Looking forward to Devizes though and looking forward to meeting you all. I think the deposit shows a commitment to turn up. Whereas with the CC Club people can book loads of pitches for the same weekend and then choose the one they fancy going to at the last minute and just cancel the others. This seems unfair especially at Bank Holiday times, when they could be stopping someone else from getting a pitch. We once had to cancel a booking with the C&CC due to illness and they were very helpful and transferred the deposit to another time. As regards the free night vouchers, we have used them on a two night booking, I phoned the site direct rather than doing it on line so that I could explain, and they just took the remaining payment over the phone. Perhaps they ought to have a voucher redeeming option on the online booking form? Look forward to meeting you too Jana

Hi everyone,
Well I've taken my life in my hands and pre-emted the arrival of the van (only by a week though and I have seen it at the dealer so should be ok!) Booked in to arrive on the Saturday due to work commitments, but will be staying on the site till the 10th April - all the way through Easter. May regret that if the site fills up with noisy bank holidayers but it is the first big trip for the van so decided to do it anyway. Looking forward to meeting everyone, may need some help putting the awning up as I suspect it will be the first opportunity to do it for real....best I get out and buy some heavy duty pegs too if I need to put it up on the hardstanding.
Tim

Actually the cake would be a bit stale as we are hoping to go down to Cornwall before meeting you all at Devizes. Although we have an oven I don't intend to use it for baking cakes while away. I might manage some pancakes on my new Cadac - just been reading the recipe book that came with it.
