I purchased a Romahome Dimension in June 2006, from NEC Caravan and Camping show. I was disappointed that the front passenger seat fell off on the first journey out, Although the motorhome has been maintained by the Citroen warranty, after 15,000 miles I was left stranded when the vehicles clutch burnt out. The vehicle is presently being recovered and I been informed that it will be a quite costly repair.
Also if anyone is thinking of having a tow bar fitted, be aware that you only have a few inches clearance of the road and tend to catch speed humps.
Has Romahome Dimension owners have had similar problems .

Hi welcome to the forum.
We have a 2005 Dimension with a tow bar and although it is low to the ground we haven't had any problems with it grounding.
So far (touch wood) we haven't had any of the other problems you have described either, it sounds as if you are having a bit of bad luck.

Hi Fester01. I'm sorry and surprised to hear of your problems with the Dimension, as a Romahome dealer I've sold many Dimensions over the years and while there have been a few problems to sort non have been as serious as the seat falling apart ( although having said that the very early seat runners in 2003 were somtimes a bit of a challenge!). A commercial clutch just doesn't burn out at 15000 miles assuming you have not been riding the clutch the failure must have been caused by either oil contamination from the crank shaft oil seal or a faulty clutch slave cylinder ( they're not adjustable) in both cases the clutch should be covered by your citroen 3 year warranty so threats of costly repairs should be countered by you saying " its a good job its still under warranty then" ! If you have not caused the clutch to wear by riding it, don't be told its your fault and pay for a new clutch because if the slave cylinder is faulty or the oil still leaks onto it it will happen again. So if the repairer just changes the clutch don't accept the repair. Ant

Hi Ant, I rang Citroen customer care line, told that the clutch was not covered by warranty, I nearly died when told that the repair would cost £1,500 , only having 15,000 miles, thats a £100 every 1000 mile!!!!! Like to hear your views on this Fester01

Hi Fester01. Every warranty I've ever read the small print of has covered the clutch failure if its failure has been caused by the failure of another part ie an oil seal or a slave cylinder. If Citroen say your clutch has no evidence of any other part failing then you're in a difficult position proving that the wear was not caused by your driving habits. If they do say that I'd want to see the dead clutch if I was in your position to satisfy myself that no oil had contaminated it. a £1500 bill sounds a bit high for just a clutch change, it sounds as if they are thinking of changing more that just the clutch for that money. Try asking an independant clutch fitting business ( like Mr Clutch) what a genuine Citroen clutch would cost to be fitted and if they see many failures due to any third party parts failures. I've never had to change a Relay clutch yet , so something isn't right! Ant
