I have locked myself out of the Luton and from the great helpful advice I've had on here, I *think* I may be able to regain access if I can demount, but guess where my jacks are ... So, is there anyone in Sussex (or environs) where I could drive round and use your jacks for a bit? Thanks Marc

I'm nowhere near, but I haven't the jacks anyway...
Are you sure you need to demount? I wouldn't have thought that would help? All that disconnecting electrics and stuff...
Try a broom handle thru the skylight first! You never know your luck! I've got a skylight right over the kitchen bit, don't fancy my chances on the roof in this wind though!
Faling that, couldn't you unscrew the lock - or dismantle it?
Hope it's calmer when I set off for Wolverley tomorrow.
Good luck Mark.

It's only a 20min job if one is used to doing it. I've thought of all sorts of broomy idea believe me but eg a skylight's no use unless *open*! Much easier than trying to blow the lock away (a plasma gun crossed my mind but then I'd be left with no door either). Oh well, I'll appreciate it all the more if I ever regain entry. Definitely worth assessing the winds before going out! I'm nowhere near, but I haven't the jacks anyway... Are you sure you need to demount? I wouldn't have thought that would help? I still need to get into the luton, so I think I'd better extend my search. Is there anyone with the demounting jacks in London, as I work in London in the week. I would need to actually borrow them for the weekend as my home's in Brighton, but would happily leave something with you as security.

Is it possible to hire some from an equipment hire shop somewhere? www.020.co.uk/t/tool-and-equipment-hire/london.shtmlOh,you'll never guess - my door lock got jammed and I couldn't lock it! It seemed really stiff and was stuck with the inside handle tipped up to the roof! (in the locked position when you're inside it) Didn't try and force it - I only have the one key and that's pretty worn... So I went for the WD40..gave it a spray both inside and out - and hey presto - it worked fine after that! Phew! By the way - I can 'post myself' through the space between the cab and body, so that's a slimmish 5ft person gap - would be even easier if I unbolted the headrests. Wouldn't like to recommend it as a general entry point, but if ever needed, it can be done!

I would imagine the jacks are specific to the vehicle. It's worth asking on here anyway. I'm amazed you can get yourself through the panel window gap. Is that what you mean? Shame I can't borrow *you*! ;D Is it possible to hire some from an equipment hire shop somewhere? www.020.co.uk/t/tool-and-equipment-hire/london.shtmlOh,you'll never guess - my door lock got jammed and I couldn't lock it!
