hi all, names bob, just joined this forum, and am looking for advice. me and my partner sue, used to have a fiat amigo camper, so are used to small spaces!....we have been without a camper for a few years now...but have always wanted another...we have been looking at the romahome based on the berlingo van, our local dealer has a new one on show, we were amazed at the interior space! unfortunately funds don't allow for twenty grand on a camper....more like 2 or 3! we have seen quite a few on ebay..which look o.k. knowing absolutely nothing about romahome campers or the C15 on which they are built, we would be buying blind. so i was wondering, are there common problems that effect them and things that i should really take note of before buying? aside from the usual checks you would make when buying a car..are there any hidden area's that can rust on the Citroen? any help will be gratefully received, bob

Hello Bob Welcome to the gang, lots of help and advice on here. It seems that one of the main pitfalls of buying a second hand Romahome is to make sure that the shell on the back of the vehicle is the original one. Apparently some old shells have be put on newer vehicles and haven't been done very well. There was a thread a while back about this HERE It may help you and I am sure others will be along to offer more tips as well. Meanwhile enjoy the forum and hope you get a nice van. Graham

Hi Bob
We had a Fiat Amigo many years ago and really enjoyed it in spite of the constant battles with rust.
We are on our third Romahome and we bought a new Outlook last year when i had to take early retirement. Before that we had a C15 for a number of years and we thoroughly enjoyed it, Easy to drive, cheap to run and always left us witha smile on our faces. Our first Romahome was a very early demountable shell on something called a Jiffy trusk. I built this myself after reading an article in a magazine. Due to family circumstances we had to dispose of ist to the scrap man in 1995. However I have recently found out through the motorhomefacts web site that someone has resurrected it and I have been in contact with him - Romahome dont seem to die!!
