They say you never get it right first time around and 24 hours after getting my C15 Hytop, I already know what I did wrong.... :-( When the dealer agreed to put in a water heater for me, I didn't specify where, so, not being familiar with Romahomes, he has put it in the space behind the driver's seat where I've now read that people have said that the porta potti is supposed to go...... doh! Now I'm limited on options for on-board storage for a toilet. The under-sink locker is small and has a fixed shelf. I can't find any model small enough to fit in. I could put it in the luton, but if it has it's 10+ litres of fresh water in it, I imagine it's going to be a fair weight to get up there? Has anybdy found a workable solution to this kind of problem? The best idea I've turned up so far is a folding toilet with biodegradable bags/gels/powders rather than water flushing. www.easycaretoilet.com/ or www.amazon.co.uk/TravelJohn-F...8905579&sr=1-3 or www.1st-harrison.com/shop2/in...&productId=290Anybody used any of these or got better ideas??? Jj PS. The dealer was so impressed with my van and had so many enquiries, he's thinking of becoming a Romahome stockist!! yay!!

My friends have theirs in the centre aisle between the benches, it is covered and used as a table.
You could use a Towsure Fire bucket, very sturdy, and use with a plastic liner and cat litter, or just bucket and chuck it, kept in the footwell at night, and outside during the day, ( After it has been emptied and cleaned of course)
As they say more than one way to skin a rabbit, I am sure others will have plenty of ideas.

Luggable Loo! I have a portapotti but it is a bit of a pain at times because it it has several bits to clean. Cat litter in a luggable loo which is just an upgraded bucket with seat and watertight lid seems quite a practical and simpler way to go. Am not a motorhomer yet but would think the luggable loo is small enough to fit in. They are a hell of a lot cheaper than a thetford as well.

Hi JaneyJane!
I have the luggable loo - very handy at night and in the morning, just bucket and chuck it, freshen with a spray and outside the van until the next evening. The campa Khazi also looks good for around the same price - however, I prefer the luggable loo as it's a large bucket which also comes in handy for other things, like putting some washing into soak/handwashing whilst on holiday. ;D

If you use the cat litter pellets you dont have to 'chuck' as such, as the liquid gels and therefore is able to be disposed of in refuse bins with your normal waste.
I did wild campiing for 3 weeks, and had no problem in finding loos on our travels, but we did have the porta potti for liquid use, but I have since discovered the gel pellets which is better.

See, it's tips like that which I was hoping for! Not having a cat for more than 20 years, I was unware that cat litter technology had moved on so far! thanks! Jj

Yep - you can always find Joan on a campsite - sat outside on her Towsure Fire Bucket!! Of course - when it rains, she has the last laugh - she wears it on her head as an umbrella, keeping her dry (unless, of course, she's forgotten to empty it first). Mike

Hey Mike (Yamaha) that's one of your classics! As soon as anyone posts something about W.C.'s you're there, it's brilliant. No need for me to enquire about Porta Potti's again, it's all sorted now, but you did post a couple of crackers on my thread as well! Beware everyone, Mike is just waiting for an opening!!! See what I've done there Mike? Ciao, Steve (chowzamma)

Hi Steve,
Glad you like my cheeky little quips - I seem to have developed a wicked sense of humour - maybe too much time on my hands!!
Of to the Loire on the bike next week, with a mate, to a microlight meeting - so hope the weather improves, as I don't really fancy camping in this weather!!
So, you'll all have a break from my caustic comments - mind you, I MAY catch up on the posts when I return - so don't relax too much!!
