Can anyone advise me as to how often I should have a habitation service check. I bought my Hilo two years ago, and since then have used it for camping for about 6 weekends a year, and three longer periods of 5 nights, in that time. I bought it from a dealer who had it serviced before we took ownership. On the surface everything looks O.K, no perished gas pipes etc. Many thanks Alan.

Hi Alan
Looks like your engine could do with a bit of a clean ;D
I think it's best to have at least the gas and electrics checked every year, we can recommend Ant for the job, if you can get to Bristol

Can anyone suggest people to do habitation (or just the gas) checks in the Brighton, Sussex area?

Similarly, any recommendations for the south Essex area?

Also, what one could expect to pay?

I just noticed this original thread was started in the Romahomes forum, but really it's a general MH Q, so I'll re-post my Q in 'Morothomes' and see you all there? Mods: hope you don't mind!

Also, what one could expect to pay? I have known dealers to charge over £200 but they check things like cupboard doors etc., the most important things are the gas and electric, we go to Ant at Avon Motors for our check, he does the gas and electric for around £50 and we check everything else. I travel from Glasgow to Bristol for Ant's services (annually) and it's a trip well worth making. E
