I know this is a long shot but does anyone know if there is a secure parking in or near Plymouth. We want to leave the Outlook for about a week and cross to Brittany. Regards, Jim Connachan

You used to be able to park on Brittany Ferries car park for free. We've done this a few times (last time about 4years ago) when we were just taking the bikes over. I don't know if it is secure, but we left our car (pre-motorhome days) there for a week. Why don't you ring the ferry company and ask as I think that Brittany Ferries are the only company who use the port.

Many thanks for the prompt reply. We looked at the car park infront of the ferry terminal(£4 per day-not secure) when we came back from Santander in September but it is not secure and I am reluctant to leave the van there. Georges garage, near the ferry, used to have a secure lockup but htey have unfortunately gone out of business. Our reason for this is so we can simply take our bikes over and do some touring as we always used to do this pre-Outlook days.

Obviously things have changed in the last few years. Another suggestion is find a CL or CS site nearby, stay overnight and ask if you can leave the van there for the time you are away.
