has anyone had any problems with the lock on the caravan door at the back? Mine seems rto collect water then the key won't go in properly and turn. I can solve it temporarily by putting oil in but within a few days the rain has washed it away.

I've had problems with tha Outlook door since new. I had to alter the lock parts to get it to close properly as it had been installed in the wrong position. Lately I have had the same problem as yourself but solved it by pushing a general purpose grease in the key slot- it took a fair time. Also I discovered that the key itself was badly worn after 3 years use and I replaced it. Since then I have had no repeat of this problem. I would also add that I took the van back to the company where it was bought, when new,to have this problem corrected but in the end I had to do it myself.

My key is badly worn - I thought I would need to replace the whole lock though... If I went and got a new one cut from the old, would it work or be just as troublesome?

I got the key supplied by my local motorhome supplier i.e. Perthshire Caravans. The y aske for the key number and had one within a couple of days. I also forgot to say that I currently also have a problem with the door as it tend to let in some water when it rains. This is due,I think, to the curvature of the door not being the same as that of the rear of the van resulting in an improper seal. I wonder if anyone elese has had this problem.

Hi Jim, thanks for the tip with keys, I don't have a key number for mine (very old) so I will probably have to replace it one day.
Have a good look at the seals around the door - it could be that they are just perished, if the door is the right one for the job.
The seals round my door are really bad, but I can't detach any of it in order to get a sample to identify which seal it is - there are many different seals on the market and you need to know which one to buy... That's another thing I've given up on for now! ;D
