It's been a very long while since I made a contribution to the forum, but during my 7 month tour of Europe in the Outlook, I occasionally perused the site for wisdom. It's been a gut-wrenching decision, but I'm selling the Romahome in favour of a slightly larger MC. I travel enormously for work and would like to take a shower enabled home with me. I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank the site and all the contributors for the invaluable tips - came in very handy while abroad! Merry Christmas to everyone and all the best in the New Year. Jacquie

Thanks for that Jacquie, wow a 7 month tour of Europe eh? You lucky person.
Have you decided on a new motorhome yet, we can recommend the Dimension its slightly larger and has a shower room with toilet, we love ours.
Whatever you decide please come back on and tell us of your travels, we are called Smallmotorhome Forum but we welcome anyone really not matter how big your van.
Take care and have a great Christmas.

Hi Graham - I went up to the NEC show and had a good look at so many different options that it made my head spin. Ran into Ant at the Romahome stall (looking very smart in his Romahome shirt!). I had a good look at the Dimension and almost made a deal on the spot, but thought I should try to sell my Outlook privately before anything else. I think my heart may lie with one of the longer wheel base panel van conversions though - there were some beauties from IH and Timberland that made me weak at the knees! Anybody have £45,000 they'd like to donate?? Really now, I think I could fancy a career switch - and the smart thing would be becoming a professional single-girl-on-the-road motorcaravanner and write for MMM. I reckon they'd have me trialling all the lovely new micros and minis on the market. Hmmmm. My dream job. I'll tell some tales of Romahoming in Corsica and other exotic parts some other time. Off to dream now....nite!

Hello again Graham - Well, I guess I still count as a small-motorhomer. Just put a deposit on a 2003 Trigano Tribute which I pick up in Scotland next week - very exciting! The Outlook sold so fast I hardly had time to gasp. A very lovely newly retired couple snapped it up and are thrilled with it. I told them all about your forum and I hope they join up. I'll sure miss the ease of using "Gertie" but the Tribute isn't that much longer. I understand the 2.3 Jtd is awesome and economical. Wish me luck driving it down to Hampshire - and hope to finally join up for a meet one of these days!
PS My European tour in Gertie included Corsica (extremely motorcaravan unfriendly!!), Sardinia (lovely!), mainland Italy, Spain top-to-toe, Portugal Austria, Switzerland, southern Germany and practically every region of France. Virtually everywhere I went, people were fascinated and impressed with the Outlook - it helped me make loads of new friends while travelling. I'll miss it's distinctiveness to be sure!

Hi Jacquie
Congratulations on selling Gertie and buying your new van, yes you definitely still qualify for Smallmotorhome status ;D. You'll have a long drive from Scotland to Hampshire are you stopping off en-route to try camping in it?
Yes it would be lovely to see you at a meet we will have to get one organised for the coming year, maybe when the weather gets warmer and see how many smallmotorhomers want to get together.
Enjoy your van.

Thanks Graham - have to get back to work so don't think I'll get to camp in it on the way down however I have a little jaunt to Burgundy planned just to make sure everthing is in order. Still have a few months of warranty left on her so want to make sure it's all kosher. Shucks, I'm sure the excitement will get the best of me - I'll probably plug 'er in when I get home and try the bed out!
