Have been to Towsure in Sheffield for my second awning of the year... the first one turned out to be a movelite XL, which is too big for my little vanny.
A friend picked it up for me as I reserved it over the phone for £50 (What a bargain, eh?) re the thread in 'for sale or wanted' by Glen in December last year... I picked it up from my friend last Sunday, and tried not to look dismayed as the bag said Movelite XL...
...got it home, it was. An XL, great thing I could probably drive my van right inside and use as a garage!!! Could hardly pick it up, never mind the thought of pitching it!
I had reserved an ordinary sized one to be collected by my mate, but the dozy girl on the phone had reserved me a XL and of course, my friend wouldn't have known the difference. I never thought to ask him to check as I assumed when I asked them to reserve a standard size one, that's what they would do... not so.
So I phoned them and explained what had happened and they said I could take it back and exchange it for the regular size as they still had one standard size left at £50 (Thank goodness for that!). So I've been all the way to Sheffield today (in the car) through fog and heavy rain/floods to get one the right size.
Always seems to be my luck!!! Anyway, I've got the right one now. And a few more things while I was there - 2 levelling chocks, a tow rope, and a pair of waterproof overtrousers! So that's more of the essentials off my list! Plus another £20 for petrol...
