On a recent outing we noticed that the folks in the next unit had a really nice little holder/bin. Unfortunately we were never able to ask where they got it from.
The only way to describe it is that it looked like an upside down stool!
You put the handles of a supermarket carrier bag over the 'legs' and it made it into a waste bin.
It looked like it folded flat and would be great for using in a small van.
Anyone got one or know where they are sold or what they are called?

Hi,
Just checking out your forum, looks great, I'll certainly be checking back to see how the community grows.
Couldn't this be a folding stool used in an imaginitive way? :-)

Eureka! I've found one of these bins online, they are only £2.50 but unfortunately p.p. is £3.50! At least I can add a picture so you know what they look like - if anyone sees one for sale, please let me know. click here to see pic: www.smallmotorhome.co.uk/Resources/bagbin.jpeg

I saw one like that at Peterborough last year and have regretted not buying one. Do you think that they might send more than one for the same postage? I could be interested if we could divide the postage costs.

I could be interested if we could divide the postage costs. Wendy Postage for 2 would be £6.50 making a saving of just 25p each I'm afraid. Never mind, we will keep looking and let you know if we find anyone selling them.

Hi Pauline, Have you bought one of these yet? If you have I was wondering what you thought of it.

Hi Moya, No we haven't got one. Wendy went down to East Coast Leisure and was going to get one for herself and very kindly offered to get one for us but, typical, when she got there they only had ONE left!! However, when we were in France last week I found a great alternative. Sounds a bit mad, but it's actually a shopping bag! I'll post a photo when I can. They are made of rigid plastic and are about 6" wide x 18" high x 18" long so it fits perfectly down the side of the loo in the Dimension when not in use. A bin liner fits easily inside and as the bag has carry handles it is good for carrying the rubbish down to the main bins then just lifting the liner and rubbish out. We also slip glass/recycling items between the liner and the bag so that can be kept separate but emptied at the same time! It cost 4 euros (around £2.75?) in the Inter Marche supermarket and I was so impressed I bought another one to use as a dirty washing basket while travelling! I thinkWendy has found the folding bin to work well though, no doubt she will give us a full review when she can!

As promised, albeit a little late! Here are a few pictures of my shopping bag waste bin! It fits nicely under the work top: We slip recyclable items between the liner and bag to keep them separate: and it began life as a shopping bag!:

The carry-bag-bin is a really useful piece of kit. We have used it continuously for the last month - sorry to those still working, but we have had a whole month away in the van. The only problem seems to be availability as we called at East Coast Leisure again on Tuesday and they had none in. The box gives this name & address: Martin Broadley In-Store Video Ltd Unit 5, Belton Lane Industrial Estate, Grantham, Lincolnshire NG31 9HN PHONE: 01476 576289 FAX: 01476 576289 E-mail us: sales@instorevideo.co.uk I don't know if they can help with other suppliers. It has quite a large footprint: 10.5in x 14.25in (266mm x 362mm) and so might be difficult to fit in a small space, but it does fold up flat and so could be put away when not in use. All sizes of carrier bag seemed to fit in it quite happily. Wendy

The bag you bought looks ideal Pauline. I am sure I have seen something similar somewhere in this country but for the life of me I can't think where. I still like the other one though. Lucky Wendy using it for a whole month. Not really jealous.

I've seen similar bags in a garden centre, so that might be worth a look. I think that they had different sizes and lots of colours. Wendy
