Yippeeeeeeeeeee
Little William arrived safely. Our first grandchild. Our son and his partner went to hospital at 10.30 in evening and told to go home, that nothing would happen for at least 14 hours.
Well they were back within the hour and he arrived about 2 hours later.
I had to go down to Bognor from London the next day as I had to see him on his birthday!!!!!! Lovely journey down but took me nearly 4 and a half hours back, A3 was shut and M25 jammed solid and 'tomtom' was no good for this journey so went well out of way.
Going back again on Tuesday and thank goodness for the van as we can camp up outside at back of house overnight and come home next day.
Just so excited and can't wait to go back to see more of him.

Congrats, Viv - I know the feeling - when they bawl you can hand them back!!
We have three, and another due in November! The eldest two are 14 and 12, but live in Spain, so we don't get to see them very often!
Thank heavens for Easyjet - would like to take the van over to Bilbao, but would need a second mortgage - quote was well over £600 return for the two of us!!
So, enjoy you new offspring.
Mike

Congratulations Grandma and Grandad not forgetting well done to the happy Mum & Dad. It is a fantastic feeling, isn't it? Our (only) grandson started school in September and it only seems like yesterday that he was born, but now he is a 'big' boy and no longer our baby.

Congratulations to all on the birth of the new baby. It'll be good to be able to camp on the doorstep when visiting, giving everyone "some space" when it's needed. It's really exciting for all of you.

Thank heavens for Easyjet - would like to take the van over to Bilbao, but would need a second mortgage - quote was well over £600 return for the two of us!! Mike Mike have you tried booking through the Caravan Club? We too were put off by the horrendous prices, but recently tried the Caravan Club for a quote and it was £220 for a Dimension and 2 adults, return to Bilbao, with a 2 berth inside cabin, in November, with the new ferry co. AT. We are actually taking the car for £180, same route and times, through the Caravan Club which is considerably less than the previous cheapest quote of £299 !! It's worth a try. Audrey

Hi Audrey
I hadn't realised that the Caravan Club offeresd discounts - but surely you would need to be a member?
Will do some more searching around - didn't know about AT - I think the price killed any ideas stone dead!! I wouldn't pay those prices even if I was a millionaire!!

Viv, don't forget to bring some photos of baby William to the meet for us all to see. Well perhaps not show them to Pauline or she will start being broody again!
