It is really quiet on here at the moment. Perhaps everyone is
Christmas shopping Writing Christmas cards or perhaps they have got tied up with the tree lights and can't post.
I haven't done any of the above so think I may need to get moving at some point. But I have 4 days off work and going to London, 3 days back at work then I leave ready to start a new job after Christmas so perhaps I should start tomorrow.

Hi there, I have been on here today and have also been out to do some work, I now have to start thinking about the Christmas presents, luckily my family agreed many years ago only to buy for children so that means only a few for us to get but we do buy small gifts for adults who we see on Chrismas day so we all have something to open.
Not sure how well we will manage this year as we have our son's parents coming over from Poland and they do not speak much English and we also have our son's best friend's Mum who is Asian and speaks hardly any English at all. She comes every year and she brings loads of home made indian food which is lovely. I know that the Polish people eat fish on Christmas Eve so I am getting trout but they will have our traditional Turkey on Christmas day. As they are staying for a few days I hope we manage to communicate OK, I gather Polish Papa is bringing some spiritos which is strong vodka, hope I don't have to have any as I can't stand it!!!

Viv I didn't realise that you were Polish and couldn't speak much English, Viv We also decided to have a pact of 'only presents for children' as we have so many birthdays around christmas time. Charity donations in lieu is now our preferred option.

I have been busy buying tiles for my bathroom, now just need a tiler! I'm surprised Joan, a woman of your talents I thought you'd be doing the tiling yourself!

What a wally, perhaps I should have had some spiritos last night and I maybe could have got to sleep earlier. I don't think there is much hope for me as I had to re-read what I wrote about 3 times before I clicked.
Perhaps I will have to go back to drinking in the week or would this make me worse!!!!!!!Dread to think what I will be like after 4 days of guests at Christmas I shall be even more tired and who knows what I shall be writing. Just ignore me!!!!!

Hmmmm D.I.Y. depressing me at moment, been coming home recently to scenes of devastation in the house plasterboard, insulation etc over floor but that was easy compared with finding the bathroom and landing covered in 70 years worth of soot. This is just the restorative work that needed doing following removal of old lead pipes and new central heating (had no heating all last winter) and getting rid of old one. We still have to undertake the touching up of old plaster before we can have it skimmed over. Then its the tiling, new bathroom suite, decorating and new flooring. THen after all that is done the rest of the house needs to be tackled room by room aagggghhh.
Perhaps our carol should be "Deck the halls with new paper and carpet" Thats why we love our van its clean, tidy and everything works lol.

Had a lovely time at the Lincoln Christmas Market yesterday and even managed to find John and Wendy amongst the crowds (aided by a few text messages!)
Well worth a visit if you are in the area but it does finish tomorrow so you will have to be quick!

You had to pay a £2 deposit for the mug then it was up to you if you took it back. I decided to keep mine as it is Christmassy and German.
