While browsing in a camping accessory shop today, I came upon a big pile of fold-up ironing boards, presumably to take camping. Does anyone actually do ironing while they are away camping? I think that would be so sad - a few creases never hurt anybody.

What is "ironing" is it some camping term I know nothing about, or is it similar to gilding? Martin

I'm not very familiar with the concept, Martin, but it is something that my mother used to do (although not while camping). I'm very sorry, Lunnie, I didn't mean to upset you and I promise never to mention such things again I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear I must not swear

Ironing whilst camping is 'hitting someone with an iron ' when you catch them sniggering at you as you set up your awning for the first time and it keeps falling down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Any jobs that come under the heading 'domestic' are left at home, apart from the washing up but that's only because we can't carry enough pots ;D
Even if I did want to iron while away I wouldn't carry an IRONING BOARD! What's wrong with a thick towel on the table like my mother used to do?!
