We are off on our summer hols to France very soon, we would like to take our laptop not only to keep in touch with all you good folk but also to send emails etc. Has anybody had any experience of using one in France ours is WiFi enabled so would we be able to tap in to internet connection over there, do French campsites have the facility to use their connection on our own laptop. I know Wendy and John have recently be over there perhaps they could help, any comments gratefully received. Regards Graham

Sorry, Graham, we only use our laptop to download photos and occasionally watch a DVD. We tend to only use small sites, so doubt that these would have wifi connections. Wendy

Thanks for that Wendy, I think we might take it anyway as it won't take up much room.
How many times have I said that this week at this rate we will be taking the kitchen sink ;D

Of course, what I should have said was everything BUT the kitchen sink. Which reminds me I must get some Marigolds to take with me.

Thanks Wendy that was a very interesting thread I learnt one or two things I didn't know, I was interested to read the bit about McDonalds having a WiFi connection, I had heard that they do in this country and it will be interesting to see if they do in France, although I wouldn't nornally go within a million miles of McDonalds, especially in France, but I don't mind sitting in the car park and using their WiFi connection if its free.
We have just been looking at the maps and planning our holiday and that Bird Reserve at Cap Sizun (sp?) is really close to a Touring Cheques camp site at Dourdenez (sp?) so we think we might stop there for a few nights on our way back to Roscoff.
Thanks again Graham (counting the days and getting excited)

Cap Sizun is the bird reserve, also Pointe du Van and Pointe du Raz are worth a visit - they are all connected by a coastal path. Pointe du Raz was very busy (even in April) and very commercialised. They all have car parks and there were no height barriers that I can recall (we were on our bikes). Pointe du Raz does charge for parking and there were several motorhomes there. Sorry to have taken the subject off laptops and have a good holiday. Wendy
