Hello Everyone, Just back from our first ever forays into the world of Romahoming. We had three short stays, coming back to check on the next generation in-between (they're at that delicate, party-throwing age!). We had two nights on the Lleyn Peninsula, Three on Anglesey, and four nights Yorshire Dales/Moors. Our campsites varied widely from luxurious to car park, so I just wondered what sort of sites most favoured and any recommendations? I'm now planning trip number 4, Aileen

Hello Everyone, Just back from our first ever forays into the world of Romahoming. I'm now planning trip number 4, Aileen Hi Aileen, Great to hear you have had your first trip! Many more to come I hope. We prefer quiet sites, we avoid sites with clubs or bars if we can. We like to use the Camping and Caravanning Club sites as they are always so well maintained or Caravan Club sites but the problem with CC sites is you often have to pay for electricity even if you don't want or need it. We are hoping to try more of their CL's as they are so cheap. We have started a 'campsite review' section on our website (link to website at top of all pages) so you could have a look on there - we only list sites that we have tried ourselves or ones recommended by readers. If you have any sites that you would like to recommend yourself please do send them to us, we would love to add them to our site. You will find a link to a form on the website to submit a campsite review. Where are you planning to go for trip 4? coming back to check on the next generation in-between (they're at that delicate, party-throwing age!). Say no more, I know just what you mean!!

Hello Aileen Nice to hear of your trips. How did you find camping in the Romhome. We used to have a Duetto which is a little bigger but we have not missed it and are quite comfortable in the smaller OUtlook.
We have just bought a small 12v TV as we intend to use the van for longer stays now that we are retired. However we may end up divorced by trying to set up the TV as we are both technologically incompetent and end up arguing like mad whenever anything needs us to work together like flat pack etc. Viv

We prefer the quiet sites and try to find CLs and CSs if possible. We also use the C&CC sites as the 'over 55s' discount is very handy. So far we haven't used a CC site but only because they haven't been in the right place. Aileen, let us know where you are going for trip no 4 and if we know any good sites, we can let you know. Also put the details of the sites you've used on the smallmotorhome website when you have time. Wendy

Thanks for your replies. Wendy, I don't know which of us should be smug, I've quite a way to go before reaching the discount (although I don't feel like it!) but wish I was nearer retiring! I will put the sites on when I've checked the names etc, Aileen
