Derek mentioned in another thread that there is still a hosepipe ban in the south due to the water shortage. As we are coming 'dahn sarf' soon, and are intending to drink your precious water , we wondered how campsites were affected by the hosepipe ban. Are we still allowed to fill the van from the tap with a hosepipe or do we have to fill using a bottle and funnel! Strange thing to ask when it's absolutely throwing it down here and our pond is almost overflowing! At least the fish are happy!

Ban is on watering private gardens and washing cars wth a hose. I think it is OK for everything else.

Hi Pauline,
Depends how far down south you are going. We haven't had a ban here in Hampshire. We come under Southern Water. They said it may be a possibility but we have been ok so far. Now it is chucking it down here as well so we should be ok.

Moya Thanks for that Moya, We are starting near Brighton with a visit to our son and family then heading off towards the Kent area - depending on where the fancy takes us, but mainly we will follow any good weather!
