Just wondered where anyone else is going in their vans over the next few weeks? We are off to Lady Margarets Park, Chirk on Saturday as there were some late availability pitches on the CC website. December we are off to Abbey Wood for our usual December London visit. January we have a night at Baltic Wharf booked and February a night at Rowntree Park, York. The last two like Lady Maragrets because they never have spaces so booked when they released January - March pitches. Can't leave FreddyVan all lonely on the drive when we could be off campievanning.

Hi there
We have nothing planned and don't mind at the moment as the weather is so poor. We have to take little Romagnome down for repair on 5th December to Southampton so well be camping at out usual campsite in our son's back garden.
I want some warm weather and want it soon but nno prospect for this Winter, but hasn't the Autumn been beautiful. We have been driving up and down to Bognor and the scenery has been spectacular.
Romagnome needs a quick run to Homebase for the car wash lads to have a go, so may pop out tomorrow.

It sounds like Freddy and Mikel are in for more fun than our 'van', we don't plan anymore camping this year. Perhaps we should call ours Morrison or Gogh (van Morrision, van Gogh??

We are off to The New Forest tomorrow night for two nights and will most probably try and book in again for early January. If we go more than four weeks without going somewhere in the van we get withdrawal symptoms even if it is only half an hour away. It is so lovely if even we don't do a lot - just totally chill out and de-stress. Beats doing housework!

Hi all, Just thought I'd add my two-pennyworth to the thread, slept out last night, 14/15th Dec. in South Glos, warm as toast, parked in a pub car park, landlord's permission given, several pints of 'Black Sheep' helped me sleep, purely medicinal, you understand. Nothing else planned, but may visit 'our apartment' in Truro, for late nite shopping, next Weds, then leave Thurs early.will keep you all posted,,,,,,Jack & Pat, Cornwall.

Well I wrote a post here and then clicked 'return' oh what a pain, I lost the page, never mindd.
Jack, I am sure you were nice and cosy in the pub car park, have you done this before? I wondered what the reaction would be if you wanted to stay in a pub car park if it was not a CL or the like.
Moya, Hope you have a nice stay inthe New Forest, We stay in the New Forest which site do you stay on as not many are open all year, and I would like to popdown muself as we have a nephew living in the area.
Now that the weather is so mild all year there seems to be no need to not camp all year, I must organise my part time work so I work one week on and one week off.

Viv, I have read of several people who have asked for and received permission to sleep in pub car parks after a meal and/or drinks - seems like a good idea for all concerned. The publican sells more drink as the driver then doesn't have to drive and can imbibe to his/her heart's content.

Hi, I am off camping over the new year, 29th Dec until 2nd Jan 07 with ukcs, really looking forward to it, but just in case it gets cold I am taking my new but absolutely beautful Goose down duvet with me and I know for sure I shall not be cold!!!!!! also in case my gas freezes all electrical appliances, plus the guiness and black
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Health and Safe New year to all.

Viv We stay at Sandy Balls at Fordingbridge. Have managed to get booked in for the 20th Jan 2007 for two nights. It is a nice site for the winter as they have got everything there if you want to use it. We wouldn't use it in the spring and summer as it does get busy and is a bit expensive. It is a lovely site. Here is their link if you want to have a look. www.sandy-balls.co.uk/index.aspJoan it sounds like you will have a good time seeing in the New Year. Have fun.

Joan I know you will have a lovely stay with the UKCS lot as they are so friendly.
I have heard of the Sandy balls site but never knew it was open all year. Are the facilities open as well Moya? I had a few colleagues who went there regularly before I even started camping. they loved it and spent ages there in the summer. .

As far as I know the only time the swimming pool is closed is for the first few days in January for maintenance work etc. but you could always check that. At the moment they are doing alterartions to the checking in part and other alterations to the layout but it isn't interfering with anything. We had a lovely weekend there in November even though the weather was horrendous! There is a nice pub just up the road which does lovely Sunday roasts if you want to go off the site. I can'y believe that Mike has been left speechless by the name of the site!
