Maplins have this 10.4" analogue and digital TV (a25fn) back at the £200 price, it has been at £250. Is this the one you have Viv, if so, are you pleased with it? Derek

Hi Derek Yes this looks like the one I have and it is perfect for size and the box is useful for storing it in the van with all its bits. Only thing is that I have not used it as I have never been anywhere where there is reception. In the house here it is fine. I have to tune it each time and my daughter has written me simple instrucitons so I don't have to translate the instruction book.
I will probably have to get an aerial but so far have not needed a telly while camping but as it is so small it is useful to keep on board just in case.
I have not seen another 12volt/mains/analogue/digital in that size for that price.

Thanks both for the info, we have been looking for a small TV for a while and both the Maplin and the Roadstar were in the running. Judy found this one in Currys, the price in-store is the same as the web so we bought one locally. Nextbase SDV1102 Portable DVD Players Currys price £249.99 www.nextbase-europe.com/products/all-in-one-spec.htmlVery pleased with it so far, works down to 11 volts, good colour, good angle of view, bright picture, easy to use, even comes with a carry case. We have a load of BBC DVDs that were free with the Mail, might get away with not putting the aerial up Derek

Hi Derek, Just caught up with this thread about your new tv. Knowing that you have got the Duo Hylo the same as ours hope you don't mind what might be a silly question. Where do you plug your tv in when using it on 12 volt? The 12 volt socket is fitted into the cooker / fridge panel on ours which is not very practical if you want to have the tv at the luton end of the van. We did have an extra mains socket fitted behind the passenger seat so that is fine when on EHU. By the way the tv you have bought looks great and it's a good price.

Hi Moya We also use an extension lead, home made by me. It is poked down the side of the seat cushion every time the set is used. Like Baldrick in Black Adder, I have a cunning plan. I propose fiting a 12V socket on the drivers side of the luton and feeding it from the Zig switch unit. I have not yet got around to it. Derek

Thanks for that Derek & Pauline. We were wondering if there was any way of fitting another 12v socket at the luton end Derek. Don't know that Roger would try to do it though. Will be interested how you get on with yours when you get round to doing it. I just think it is a pain keep having to use extension leads. You would think that it would have been logical to put a socket that end as well wouldn't you? Maybe there is some reasoning behind it. Cost maybe?

Hi all. just read about the ideas you have for fitting extension sockets, it's a piece of cake, to fit one nearer the luton, and more practical too. I have an extra one in our C15, fitted near the zig controls, make sure you fit an in-line fuse,,,,,,,,,,then connect to the battery terminals. J&P, Cornwall

Hi Jack, I had considered going straight across the leisure batt but the Zig switches are an easier option for me. I also wanted the socket going through the Zig distribution. I still may fit a high power socket fed directly from the leisure batt for a 12V jug kettle. The Halfords kettle takes 15 amps, the existing system won't handle that.
