Hi guys, Having now got the van, I have changed all the halogen bulbs for LED lights. They are a colder light, but use 120mA as opposed to almost 1A per bulb. I got the bulbs from www.ultraleds.co.uk, and plumped for the 21 led arrays which are more powerful. My reason for this is that I don't want to be tied to having hook up all the time or a solar panel but want to be able to use the lighting without concerns for how long I can go between running the van to top up the secondary battery. I actually quite like the blue/white light they provide as opposed to the yellow halogen anyway. Tim

Hallelujah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is such good news Tim, we are so happy for you. When we had our Duo we never had a problem with the battery going below half way even on a two week holiday, but I suppose it depends on whether you drive the van much while away. We did have a drive every few days or so. Have fun and we will definitely be seeing you at Devizes now!

Hi Tim I have changed the eyeball light bulbs to LEDs as well, I prefer the light from them and the holders don't get hot. Doing our bit to save the planet Was the change straightforward? I had to modify the holders but it wasn't difficult. Derek

Hi Tim, Thanks for that link. We are interested in changing at least some of our spotlights to leds. We look forward to inspecting your new vehicle and lamps at Devizes. Which exact model of bulb did you buy and did you need to alter the holders?

Hi Derek and John, The change was straightforward, but it may be that the fittings on my vehicle are of a slightly different design to yours. I used the bulbs at this link: www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=74&products_id=1076&osCsid=13cfad36f41201e66311633e3b4fdf15The G4 (Capsule) 12V DC 21 Led Cool White Led Bulb The two eyeball spots were a little tight to get the bulbs in but a bit of wiggling and they were fine. The light above the door takes two halogen bulbs so both were changed and the fitting is flat so takes the LED units easily. I also fitted a switch on the HEKI rooflight so that I could turn off the fluorescent tubes, a bit of a shortcoming that this wasn't provided I feel. With the door light on the kitchen area is pretty well lit, and with all four lights on the van is very well lit. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Devizes, will hopefully have managed a couple of weekends away before then too. Tim
