Well here is my second attempt to post this - last one went off to the Polls!
We stayed at Yew Tree Farm site near Stourport last week. When I phoned to book, the farmer said it would be fine just to turn up but he asked if we were members of the Camping club.
I was puzzled at this but when we arrived he sent us to the Rally field which had been set up as a camping club THS (temporary holiday sites)
The stewards were really helpful and welcoming and helped us choose a nice pitch - even indicating discretely which ones were in a nice quiet space.
The stewards explained that these sites are set up all over the country for days or weeks and you can come and go as you please. He said some people go all over the country all season using these sites. The magazine gives details of facilities which do vary.
This site shared good basic but adequate facilities with the regular site and I would have no hesitation in using a THS again. He also said that the groups welcome members from other areas and actually like this.
This pitch was only £8.75 per night with Hook up and this was high season.

Thanks for the info Viv, we've heard of them but never met anyone who has used one so it's good to get a recommendation. Well worth a try

Hi Pauline the only difference for us at this site was that we had a lovely welcome and the price. I felt no different than if I had booked on a regular campsite. We got the usual nod in greeting from the neighbours.
I think it is important to check if the site has toilet facilities or not if you need them.
It certainly made me think also about joining in on of the rallies the club has.
