Rattles in the small rooflight as you travel along seem quite a common source of irritation probably because of Romahomes' quality build and peaceful environment. And today I have just read that there are two types available - ventilated and non ventilated. Is this true? If so I assume the Dimension has a ventilated one. I wonder about the advisability of overcoming the rattles with foam door seal strip?

I know that you can get one with a fan fitted - there was one in the new Dimension at the NEC. Ours rattles as well, but we've learned to live with it - a small price to pay for (almost) everything else being right!

We also had a rattley (?) roof vent but were not prepared to put up with it, having had no roof vent rattles at all on our previous motorhome (Autosleeper). That was one of the things that Freeborn sorted for us last week. They replaced the push-up part of the vent and damped it with velcro!! - not sure where the velcro is, but there are no more rattles. The trouble is, everything else has to be really, really well packed now because having removed that rattle it shows others up!! Audrey

The main problem we have with our small roof vent is that the inside cover gets blown out of the guides - a small matter to push it back. Also when we have the vent open and it rains and then open the fly-screen to close the vent, we get wet!

Hi Mike. If your rattle is getting you down and you don't want to stick things on the blind to stop it, try just pulling the whole flyscreen/blind bit off and refitting it when you get to your camp. It pulls off very easily if you open it and give it a firm tug in a downward direction, the hinges un clip. Ant

Off for a day out in sunny Herefordshire! Cheers Mike and Heather
