Hi everybody.
I have a Romahome as follows:
C15 1990
I have checked the electrics. It has a ZIG board and leisure battery and the lights work on the aux battery and from the mains also via electric hookup. It also has 2 sockets and they work.
The fridge is a bit of a mystery. I checked it online and it seems to be a 3 way fridge (gas/battery/direct) but I cannot get it to work on battery/direct current. I have not tried the gas yet.
Any ideas? Is there a hidden fuse somewhere?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Diolch / thanks
Ruth

Hi Ruth. Your Fridge is run via a relay on 12v, you can find this under the bonnet to the right of the battery ( when looking in), also you should find a little box of fuses just above the relays to the right of the battery. If the fridge was an original Romahome instalation the fuse with the fat yellow wire coming from it relates to the fridge. The fridge will only work while the ignition is on (ie engine running) and you have pushed the switch on the dash board on, this allows the relay to switch under the bonnet which in turn joins the fridge heating element to the battery. The fridge uses between 8 and 12 amps ( alot!) so only use it when the engine has been started. assuming the unit works it would take a 200 + mile trip to get a warm fridge cold, so best used to maintain an already cold fridge while site hopping. If it doesn't seem to work and the fuse looks ok, the most common point of failure is the switch on the dash board. ( it's a heated rear window switch used for the Citroen visa car, available from any Citroen dealer) Hope this clears some of the fog. Ant

Hi Ruth Bore Da! Until you have established that your fridge is working effectively, you might find it useful to buy five or six largish thermos flasks (sterilised!) which can be charged with crushed ice, small portions of meat and fish, milk/cream, salad items etc. Always make sure that you replace all fuses 'like for like'. Genuine Citroen fuses have a small 'C' 'squiggle' on the +ve end. However other makes will probably work just as well. Anyway you will definitely enjoy your new mobility and sense of freedom. In short, enjoy! Ricky
