The headlight array on the Dimension2 is quite awe-inspiring when you are used to just car lights. Does anyone know were to stick the plastic bits so as to make it legal for France? (no rude comments about were I can stick my plastic bits, please ;D )

Are you planning to use your own bits of black plastic sticky tape?
If so, then if I were you I would nip down to Halfords, have a look at the pack for the headlight deflectors for your make of Dimension and see if you can read the instructions as to where to put them! ;D

Pauline, last year when we were in France, the Halfords deflectors wouldn't stick and so they had to be held on with sticky black tape.!
I've still got those deflectors and was thinking of reusing them (held on by black tape if necessary) if I could work our where they're supposed to go on the hi-tech looking headlamps on the van (it's the 2007 Citroen Relay).

Doug - I've just been out trying to remove the remnants of my deflector strips - the deflectors pulled of fine - but the mess left behind took 20 mins hard work with methylated spirit to remove!!
The heat produced to make them stick must be intense, as after rubbing vigorously I discovered there was still a sticky film that needed removing.
I certainly wouldn't fit them again - I remember some years ago, the French required yellow on your headlights - I painted my motorbike lens - then discovered I seemed to be the only one with a yellow headlight!!

How about only going out in the daylight? ;D
Only joking, we once decided to leave applying our deflectors until arrival on the first campsite but on the way we were caught it the most horrendous thunderstorm and it was as black a night and we needed the headlights! We had to stop while the storm passed.

Mike So what do you reckon doing next time? Black insulation tape? Doug Not sure I'd bother with anything next time, Doug - although it is an instant fine if you're caught with nothing to deflect the tilt-up part of the beam. I suppose in practice - yes, black tape - at least it's easier to remove!! Mike
