I've bought a reversing camera and sensors - easy to wire up ( ) as it's mostly plugs and has a remote reversing beepy thing that plugs into the cig lighter. Well that's what it says on the box...

Reading through the destructions, it seems I have to wire it into the reversing light and guess what......


I DONT HAVE A REVERSING LIGHT!

You'd think I'd have checked before I bought the reversing kit, wouldn't you? I just assumed there was one! But I'm so fick!

Have just emailed the seller of said equipment to see if it can be wired into the Fog light (I've got one of those, saints be praised!) and just switch the fog light on when reversing. LOL!

Hi again - here's the reply from the seller of the reversing kit:

'Hi, what a very unusal question. Was not aware that any vehicle did not have a reverse light. As long as it has a 12v source then it will work so please fit to which ever power source you wish - obviously the best option is a power source that only engages when you select reverse gear, failing this a power source which you can control.. Many thanks'

So if I wire it to the fog light, that will be ok, except when I need it to drive in the fog... There again, if I was using the fog light whilst driving in the fog, then I wouldn't have the remote beeper thing plugged in as I wouldn't be reversing! The sensors would be on though. Hmmmnnnn, will have to see what my son says about this.
