Hi Jayjay,
It might be possible to have a small switch fitted by the gear lever so that it switches when you put the lever into reverse.

Hi Eugene, yes my son had thought about putting it onto a separate switch on the dash. Determined to have one, just wish everything didn't have to be so complicated!
Edited to add: Some of my family members seem to think I would be better just learning how to reverse! Can't see the point if there's an easier way, can you? ;D
I do know how to reverse actually, but it's darned hard in the Rascal, you can't see far enough behind you, even with extending mirrors. I would rather have a gadget that helps, especially as it also senses if people are walking behind the van.
Could do with an 'attention - this vehicle is reversing' thing like they have on lorries!
