Locking cap to water tank filler pipe

OK - I may be a bit slow (old age or cold weather) but HOW is the cap supposed to lock?

I put the cap on, push in and turn clockwise, turn the key (clockwise), remove key, push in cap, turn anticlockwise - and - off it comes.

I have tried every combination of movements that I can think of and STILL it doesn't stay locked.

How is it supposed to work?

The annoying thing is - I am sure that I have successfully locked it in the past, when after locking, I could spin it anticlockwise and it stayed on.

Is it me?

Hi Barry, we had the same trouble with ours when we first had the van. The cap would not spin round when locked. Romahome sent a replacement cap and that has been OK.
