:)Hi, Can anyone tell me roughly how much a new heater (cab area not living quarter) would be? Thanks

Hi happycamper. You don't say which vehicle you need to heat! If its a C15 Romahome ( heater blowers do tend to get a bit lazy) then the cost of the replacement blower unit is about £40 + vat ( non genuine part) and about £30 to fit it. Try banging the black dome under the dash to the right of the steering wheel with the blower switch on, it may just be stuck due to lack of use. Ant

If you are a contortionist you can get the heater motor out. (you need to lie on your back in the drivers footwell. I took the seat out to make it easier) I did this when we had a C15. I carefully took the motor to pieces and cleaned everything including the brushes on the motor, one of them was sticking. The motor was still going strong when we sold our C15

Hi, Peter, My heater motor is getting a bit iffy and I want to remove and try to fix it, only had a quick look so far. Will it come out without too much dash removal. "Mr Haynes" says it comes out easy, but they have the COMPLETE dash removed and don't say how much needs to come off just to get the blower out. I realize the shelf must come off, but how much more.
Thanks Martin
Sorry if I am hijacking this thread

Once the shelf is out you can fiddle the blower motor out one the 3 mounting nuts are undone. i seem to remember that there is just enough slack in the wiring. The dash does NOT have to come out!

Many thanks Peter, it doesn't seem too bad then, even though it may be awkward.
Thanks again Martin

Martin you just need a bit of patience. We had problems with earths behind the dashboard and I added extras whilst the blower motor was out.

Hi Peter,
Had it all out, not as difficult as I first thought, had to remove R/H speaker mount tho, it was in the way.
No fault found, all is working OK, I think something must have got into the fan to cause the noise that I heard and has by now been blown out.
Martin
P.S. only two mounting nuts on mine, no place for a third, so for others taking the fan out, remove the two that can be easily seen and try to remove, some may have three but my one has only two HTH
