Our Romahome is called Julius. The reg is J956CSR. (JULIUS CEASAR) We live in Colchester which was full of Romans at one time and our hobby is metal detecting, through which we have learned a lot of history of the area. We take our detectors with us everywhere when in the Romahome because we never know when we will find an accomadating farmer or a nice beach.

Similarly our registration ends in CZR which made us think of Russia. Ivan seemed appropriate and he's not at all terrible. Graham

Rodney sounds like a right plonker ;D
He looks pretty good though. I did a right click on your profile and he looks in great shape, he obviously has loving owners.

We call our's the 'van', but it does have a name printed on the side.
It says Hy Lo, which becomes 'Hallo' as in ' Hallo my Darlings' for those of you who remember Charlie Drake's opening line. ;D
So its a very friendly, welcoming van, which is why it has been well looked after by its previous owners and is being given TLC by us.
Hilary has just suggested that we should call it 'Charlie' after Charlie Drake.
Going one further perhaps it should be 'Hy Lo Charlie'.
I'll stop there before I get into deep water, and if we do that we'll have to leave Charlie and go aboard our narrowboat which does have a name - Sand Piper.

Ours is refered to as "the camper", the other motor "the jeep"(little Suzuki). If we give it a name it will probably be "Little Kipper"

Our Hylo is called either 'The Hylo' (sorry, I know that's a bit boring but Hylo is such a wonderfful name all by itself!!) or 'The New Folder'. 'Folder' because of the folding roof, and 'New' because we used to refer to its predecessor, a folding camper, as 'The Folder'.

My Dihatsue Demountable is called Bilbo after Bilbo Baggins in the Hobit, this came about as Hobits are small and Bilbo went on a adventure and travelled all over the place. ( yep sad I know but never mind) Dave

My first car (a green morris 1000 traveller had the reg letters BLB we called it Blub because that was the noise it made blub blub blub (we fixed the silencer eventually) so then our blue traveller became blue blub, later our skoda blubski our first motorcaravan had the reg letters NYU so became New Blub you get the picture. When we found that the C15 part of our romahome was made in Spain it had to be:
El Blub
Our current renault has a 170 bhp tuned diesel it doesn't go Blub at all so the dynasty ended but as its a trafic and we listen to radio 2 so it had to be Sally Trafic (1 f)

Well, I thought this thread might not work or have only a few entries cos noone would be as daft as me as to name their van, but i see i'm in good company! Liked the blub and el blub history and the hobbit thing for Bilbo - should have thought about the hobbit connection myself for wee vans as i've been a sad lord of the rings fan for more years than you can count without getting bored. And the great betty boo! Fab.
