Do all the small romahomes have that pelmet that is in the way of your head. I assume the dimension doesnt.

No pelmets on our Dimension only the top cupboards and they don't get in the way of our heads. We have had arguments with the front edge of the luton, but as it is padded we've not come off too badly. PS Have you seen the Quartet in the For Sale section?

Hi Robin. All the small Romahome pelmets are removeable if they bug you when using the vehicle, if you sit on one side habitually you can remove one side only and keep the very useful storage on the other. Ant

There would be a riot here if I took off the pelmets, where would we put keys, glasses, sweeties, combs, MP3 player, mobile phones, 12V phone chargers, camera, first aid kit, makeup (hers, not mine), makeup mirror, torches, spare batteries, swiss army knife, marching compass, whistle, binoculars, etc Derek

With you on that Derek. It is amazing what we store in the pelmets. The list is pretty much the same as yours plus dvds, rubbish bags, cling film, foil, light for the awning, pitch marker etc., etc. The list is endless. We definitely wouldn't be without them and you do get used to them being there when you sit down. Unless we are sitting at the table I tend to stretch out on the seat with feet up anyway.

I love my pelmets and as you say, Derek and Moya, where would you keep all the little things that you always need.
I have put tiny little carrier bags, (the thick paper type carrier bags used for gifts - blue of course to match) they slide down into the pelmet and keep my small items (binoculars, mobile phones, camera, charger etc separate so I can find them easily.
I cannot imagine rummaging for my specs in the morning if I had to keep them in the Luton.!!!
Derek what is a marching compass and how does this fit in with the leisurely life of camping???

Blimey! I did say they WERE removable, not that i was GOING to remove them! I did once have a complaint that the pelmet on a Duo hylo was coming off- after I removed 8lbs of stuff ( see Dereks list and add spare batteries for torch, creams and pills, Iron bar!! vaseline- very usefull in a Romahome- , nuts and bolts, spanners, small car for the wife, shopping trolley, step ladders, etc etc--) and doubled the number of screws fitting it I was forgiven!
