On other forums, there's enormous amounts of discussion about problems with new Fiat/Peugot/Citroen vans - the biggest of which appears to involve reversing up steep hills.
It's not clear exactly which vans may be affected so I posted a question about Citroens. This is the reply I got from another poster:
The Citroen Relay base used for your Dimension is a clone of the Peugeot Boxer as far as 'motorisation' is concerned (ie. only 2.2-litre or 3.0-litre motors are installed). It would seem that the severe juddering-in-reverse problem relates only to Fiat Ducatos fitted with the 2.3-litre motor. (I say this deliberately in the hope that someone will tell me it's wrong. It would be helpful if people complaining that "My Fiat has got the judders" revealed which motor was fitted.) Suggest you try reversing up a steep slope and see what happens.
As far as the other problems listed on the motorhomefacts website are concerned, I think you should assume they potentially apply (where appropriate) to your motorhome too. Best to have a word with a Romahome dealer to check what's happening regarding recalls, fixes and the like.
I'm not sure what the other problems listed on the motorhomefacts site are (I haven't looked yet) but perhaps Ant could tell us if any of this applies to the latest Dimension and if trhere are any "recalls, fixes etc" we should know about?

Doug. As far as I'm aware the juddering problem is not one the Citroen engine suffers from. Although the Fiat, Peugeot and Citroen are all produced by the Seville factory they all use their own engines, even the Citroen / peugeot relationship does not mean the engines are the same. Citroen and their diesels are normally ahead of the pack with the evolution of diesel engine technology ( mainly the ability to use bio fuel is far more advanced with the Citroen engine than any of the others). None of my customers have reported any engine problems. There is however a problem which is shared by all three marques and that is the water running off the windscreen and on to the engine making the injectors rusty. There has been a different response from the three manufacturers to the problem, Fiat have made an engine cover to protect the injectors, Citroen have produced a different seal for the windscreen base, and as at yet I've not seen what Peugeot are doing. Only one Dimension that I've sold has suffered from this problem but if yours has it you should take it to a Citroen dealer and get it fixed. Although the Injectors look unsightly there are no real long term implications to them looking rusty. Other than that I've not had any problems reported to me about the Citroen Relay. Ant
