Hello ant,
I am very much a novis at both Motor Caravaning and using a forum, tried to get this to you Friday, but it was rejected for some reason i do not understand, trust this will reach you.
My first vehicle, obtained 15 months ago, was a 13 year old Romahome Hylo on the Citroen C15 chassis. I recently purchased a new Romahome Hylo on the Citroen Berlingo 1.6HDI.
I am experiencing problems with the nearside window, adjacent the Pullman arrangement and would very much appreciate your comments or observations on this. The window rattles and vibrates. The frame appears to be tight fitting, but the interior mechanism of possibly fly screen, blind, etc. are creating the noise. One experiences both at a very low speed as well as normal traveling ones, from the road. Also, the engine at certain revolutions, sets up a vibration through this window. The window on the offside, is a silent as the grave.
There are two possible reasons for this, the window is defective and would be repaired/replaced under warranty, or is there a design problem with this Pullman arrangement? I say this, as this side of the vehicle has much less upholstery, but more components and fittings, which all combine to be less effective to dampen down/insulate these sound transmissions through the chassis. Also, prior to this purchase, i had a test drive in this model and on arriving back at the suppliers premises, when questioned about my observations, i did remark that there was quite a lot of rattling noise coming from the rear and this was over my left shoulder. I was told that the vehicle had not yet undergone its pre-delivery service, which was the reason.
Am i reading too much into this and it is just a duff window?
Your comments would be very much appreciated.
Regards,
Goonybird.
