We are always being told that Motorhomes don't depreciate - certainly when compared to cars.
Oh really?
Recently, we thought it may be necessary to think again about our much-loved, 6 months old Dimension 2. Fortunately, as it turns out we don't have to but as a matter of interest, we asked the dealer we bought it from how much we'd get for it if we had to go that route.
His reply was "about £22,000". So, a vehicle which cost just under £33,000 last August would now only be worth £22,000 to us. That doesn't sound like value retention to me...

A private buyer would probably pay a lot more..don't forget, a dealer has his profit margin to think about and, as it wasn't offered in part-exchange, this also affects the price offered.

The retail value of a Motorhome upto a year old is normally its new price less the VAT, you then of course have to deduct the dealer margin ! some have bigger margins than others!!

We have a Fiat Ducatto Adria Win (04), 12,000 miles which we paid £27,500. It is like new as we havent had the time to use it very much as our circumstances changed soon after we got it. We have it up for sale but we have some really silly offers for it. As we dont want to part ex it for another one, then most dealers are not interested in it. It has been advertised in magazines, on e bay and is parked in a prominant position for passing traffic but no luck. Penny & Derek

I hope that you've got it well secured, a wheel clamp perhaps, or someone might take a fancy to it! ;D

Sorry its taken an age to answer your question. We were at Wolverly for the weekend then drove back to Colchester , visited the new granchild who decided to arrive while we were away then had a funeral to attend. We are looking for an offer of £22,450 for the Adria. It is so well worth it, like new. Pendel
