Hi all
We nipped down to see Ant at Avon Motor Caravans this weekend. I must say he looks nothing like he does on the telly and there was no sign of Dec. ;D
Anyway we stayed Friday night at a campsite just down the road very handy for getting up next morning and leaving the van with Ant.
We wanted him to check our electricity and gas (a sort of habitation check but at a fraction of the cost of the one most dealers do where they check lots of unnecessary things like your cupboard hinges etc), we also had a problem with water getting into our Dimension roof.
Ant very kindly loaned us his Citroen Berlingo Forte and we happily set off to discover the delights of Bristol while leaving Ant to do the work. We parked down near Baltic Wharf and had a very pleasant walk along the river into Bristol itself to do a bit of shopping. After a few hours Ant rang our mobile to say the work was done and we could collect the van at our convenience.
I must say we were very pleased with the work done, he found two places where water was getting in, one in the bathroom window and the other through the rear high level brake light, both were due to faulty seals. While doing our electric and gas check he also found out our leisure battery wasn't charging due to a blown fuse.
So hopefully now we will only have one shower in the van, in the bathroom where it is supposed to be and not in the kitchen as well. ;D
A good tip from Ant for us High Top owners, when inspecting the roof he uses an aluminium ladder with a pair of trainers on the end where the ladder rests against the van so that it doesn't damage it. I was just about to throw an old pair away so now I have found a use for them when I am cleaning the roof of the van.
Regards
Graham
