Hi Bongo
With a user name like that I expected you to be another Bongo owner. Sorry I can't answer your question but welcome to the forum anyway, hopefully someone will be along to help.

Hi Bongo. The body was never designed to come off and be refitted safely, yes there are some companies that do it but Romahome have told them they must remove all Romahome logos and decals and not to refer to the new vehicle as Romahome as they were not happy to have the Romahome name associated with the clone. Any comebacks would not be supported by Romahome. Ant

Hi Bongo We've just embarked on exactly the same mission! You're not alone ;D We have a 1986 Hytop that's been off the road for three years now since the van died. We always planned to attempt to move the body onto a new van but had to build a garage first and buy a new van (a 2003 C15). But at last we towed the sad old girl back from farmers yard last Sunday - where she'd turned a lovely shade of moss and began to strip her down. The GRP body cleaned up so easily - what amazing stuff! The downside to the body is it's well-fixed (well built!) - as Ant says never meant to be moved I guess. We're going to take it really slowly - not looking forward to dealing with all that glass fibre. We agree with your statement that it's just too sad to let it go - as there's nothing at all wrong with the body (yet...!) Thanks for the info about removing all the decals etc Ant - we'll do that, it's only right. That is if we ever actually manage it... We'd be very interested to hear from anyone else who might have attempted this and whether they were successful or not and if not, what went wrong... Meanwhile, Bongo - how's it going, have you made a start yet? All the best Zoe
