Hi Ant I know it's OK to use the fridge when the top cover is fitted other then in realy hot weather but is it OK to leave the bottom one on being that I don't use the gas boiler? (dimension)
Also I'm thinking of fitting a fire extinguisher at the moment there is only a fire blanket.
What size & make do you recommend & where to fit.
Regards Pete

Hi Pete. The two fridge vents are designed to work together so if you close the top one you can also close the bottom one. The smaller Romahomes you can't get to the bottom one so it remains open regardless. Fire extinguishers should always be fitted near to an exit, you can then start fighting any fires once you know you can get out if needs be. The most likely fire would be either from the Kitchen area or the Battery area so I'd fit it near the side door, perhaps on the step by the gas locker. From this location you could probably fight the fire from out side the van too. Ant

Ant Could you explain this as I have a 94 Romahome and have just returned from Venice where it was so hot ,the heat given off by the fridge when on gas was a real problem as night . Is there a way to let the heat escape outside the van in the hot weather ( If we ever see any again )

Hi inaselva. The fridge on the C15 is half the size as the Berlingo, the heat can normally be dispersed via a heat sink effect on the out skin of the van. If the conditions are very hot this does not work as well and you may need to fit an extra ven to create a flue system. Ant
