I swore (yes; swore..!) that I'd never have a TV in our van but after a few dark and rainy experiences, the better half began looking wistfully out of the Dimension window at nearby vans within which could be seen the flickering screen of the one-eyed squark box.. "It may be nice just occasionally to have a TV...." she said. "Hmm" said I. Anyway, on another forum, there was a lot of chat about this satellite system from Lidl which had a very good response from those who had bought one. I allowed myself to be convinced when Celia pointed out that it would also be useful for getting BBC radio when we were abroad and, secretly, I quite fancied one because I can't resist a gadget even if I'm not fond of TV. So we got one and I've just tried it out for the first time in the garden and it worked First time ;D It cost £65.00 and for that you get the dish, transponder, receiver, cables, compass for locating the satellite and strong, plastic 18" x 19" x 6" box to keep it all in. If you want TV, particularly if abroad, this is a very good buy at the price. I believe it will pick up the Astra satellite down to the South of France and possibly Northern Spain but I'm no expert This was on offer a week or so ago but I think Lidl still have them - we got ours a week or two after it was first announced. Hi Doug
Just seen both your posts about this, thanks for the info. However, since I stopped working I am still enjoying the novelty of life without having to make decisions.
If we had more than the usual 5 channels I would be back to having to decide and am now so out of practice that it would take me all evening to select what I wanted to watch, so I am sticking to the non-satellite option!!!!
