The Ultra-Rare Suzuki Carry (Not the old Super Carry) with Romahome Demountable Motorhome. For Fans of the tardis of small motorhomes, this will need little introduction, being the ultimate version of the Romahome demountables, normally seen on the Bedford Rascal or Daihatsu Hi-jet, you no longer need to suffer the under-powered and over-cramped cabins of the older base vehicles. The Suzuki Carry has a modern 1300cc engine that actually accelerates up most hills, a novelty for small Romahome owners. The motorhome is in very good condition with low mileage for year of 49300 miles. Slight wear on the front seats, but nothing major. Our last 3500 mile Romahome round trip to the Lot valley in the South of France was fantastic, so much so that we intend a much longer trip this time and intend changing to a Hymer type motorhome as a live-in base as we need more sleeping accomodation this time round.
Anyone who has owned one of these motorhomes will know how big and comfortable they appear inside, with inboard water where you just turn the tap and watch it flow, mains hook-up, cooker and grill, surprising amount of storage, (Even a wardrobe), built in side tables which double as partitions from the kitchen area and a main dining table, very very comfortable double or single beds for sleeping two and a smaller area above the cab which can be used for a child bed and on this vehicle accomodates a small 240v/12v fridge that matches the interior plus a good and easy to access storage area. It has an on-board automatic battery charger and leisure battery,This one also has the latest technology in LED spotlights which use hardly any power at all from the battery at night. There is also fluorescent lighting for when you need it bright and airy. There is even a Porta Potti type toilet on board! Mains outlet sockets and 12v outlets sockets are provided for accessories. Above the back door is a matching set of Brass Coloured Clock, Barometer, Thermometer and hygrometer. Great for keeping an eye on the weather trends for planning your activities. There is an externally accessed locker with safety vents which carries the gas cylinder (Camping Gaz - Get a fill easily in the UK or europe. No Cylinder problems)
Split charging relay maintains the leisure battery from the engine generator, without risk of draining the starting battery. Rear door is a stable type, where the bottom can be closed with the top open to enjoy the view - breakfast in bed is a real pleasure when you can look out over a Scottish loch at the same time! The cab has an RDS radio/cassette and Drivers airbag. There is even space under the hood that can, with care, be used for extra storage as the engine is under the front seats. The base vehicle can even be used as a pickup for all that garden rubbish you need to get rid of. The sides and tailgate for the body are included in the sale along with the slot-in jacks for lifting the body off. The motorhome has rear stabilisers that allow you to avoid the wobble that you can get from the older models from the vehicle suspension when moving around inside. Motorhome windows are tinted and double glazed. Unlike some of the older versions, both side windows open and can be locked open for ventilation, essential for France in August! Two wind up roof vents help with this. However, the insulated body on this model doesn't just keep the heat out. We have also used her when visiting friends at new year in the Scottish Highlands where we were very cosy, despite the ice and snow around us.
MOT'd and Taxed to October 2008 and economic to run in these days of high petrol costs. Our last insurance, fully comprehensive was less than £130 through the Caravan Club.
