Hi Ant, We've just got back from France, on the third day the nearside electric window decided to stop working, when I pressed the button it went part way up but then started making a horrible grinding noise (frightened Pauline to death ;D ) luckily we managed to force the window shut by hand, then we daren't try it again, we have tried it since we got back and the same thing is happening. I've had a look and to access the mechanism from the door seems to need a special type of screw driver, can you give me an idea what the problem could be, is it something I could have a look at, if so what tool would I need for the screws? If not I'll have to take it to Citroen, have you any idea how much I could be paying. Typically its just out of warranty. Thanks for any advice Graham

Hi Graham. Might be worth having a look yourself, you'll need a set of "Torx" screwdrivers. The fact that the window works part way then gets nasty would suggest the actuator arm may be a bit loose, ( slamming doors shut, rough French roads, etc can cause it). I don't think the electric bit has a problem. If you need to remove the mechanism for any reason 3 thin arms that are twice as strong as your current two that bend in any direction would be helpful! Cheers Ant I'll get the screwdrivers and have a look, if slamming doors could be the problem then I will have to blame Pauline as she uses that side more than me. ;D
