Three Romahome C15s seen on our recent holiday trip (or the same one, following us around!):- First was on site at Yellowcraig CC on 19th May. No-one around or I would have waved as I walked the dogs past! Second passed us going in the opposite direction on the A832 near Loch Maree on 28th May -waved, but didn't see if they saw us. (They might have been heading for the Kinlochewe CC site?) And last, whizzing out of the Clumber Park CC site around 7.15pm on the evening of 2nd JUne, just as we were arriving! I have never seen so many on one holiday! We also passed a Bedford Rascal (or was it a Bambi) on the A9 going South from Aviemore on 1st June - might have been jayjay in Daisy?

It certainly was me!! 1st June, heading back from Aviemore to Auchteradar. I used the A9 for a whiley, but turned off onto the old A9 at Bruar as I was getting fed up with pulling in for traffic building up behind me at every passing place! I thought the A9 would be quieter on a Sunday! Sorry I didn't wave, was too busy looking in my rear view mirror for traffic build up!

Jayjay, nice to have seen you, if only for a few seconds! I thought it was probably you, as I remembered from the posts here before you went that you were stopping off in the Aviemore area. You were just pulling over into a layby as we passed. Did you have the notice on the back specially made?
And, Hello Dolly! ;D Another brief encounter! We weren't staying on the CC site, just passing on our way to Gairloch. It was the only wet day we had in our 18 days away, apart from our journey home.

J... you were stopping off in the Aviemore area. You were just pulling over into a layby as we passed. Did you have the notice on the back specially made? Hi Sid! I would have been pulling into a layby - it was Sunday and I thought the A9 might be quiet! Hahahaha... I was pulling into every single layby to let traffic go past until I finally tired of it and exited the A9. Yes, I did have the notice specially made - it just warns ppl that it's a slow vehicle really and to apply caution when overtaking. I had two made and have one in reserve. I got a chap on Ebay to make them for me, I can't remember how much it was now, but it seemed reasonable for the work he put in! Jacki

The sign's a good idea, especially for some of the more impatient drivers! The A9 does seem to attract more than its fair share of them - even driving at the legal limit of 60 along the single carriageway stretches, you soon build-up quite a tail of traffic that can't wait to overtake.

Hello! Yes, we had only 1 wet day in our 2 and a bit weeks up there too; very lucky. Actually come to think of it, it was in Gairloch (as far up as we went). So only one bad midge night - ew, wiping them off the door and skylight in the morning, yuk.
