Is there a way to test that the leisure battery is usable? It shows 2/3 charged on the panel after being plugged in for several days but when you try to use it, it goes flat very quickly. Is it time to replace? I have had a green "idiot" light on telling me that I am connected to the mains when I am not. A short somewhere?--I don't want to ruin a new leisure battery if there is a drain. After driving, it seems to charge but doesn't hold a charge for long. The vehicle is a Fiat Ducato base-1997 Autoroller 4. Help please-Thanks Albert

Hello Albert - and welcome to our group.
Yes, if you have a Battery Centre near you, they should be able to test it for you, with a device that puts a load on the battery for a set time, and then measures the voltage to give an indication of the state of the battery.
It would also be worth getting then to check there is no power being drained from it when you're not using it. A simple job, with the correct tools! This could cause an early demise of a leisure battery.
btw - if you put your location it can make it easier to help.
Mike

Thanks Mike-location is Rutland. My previous leisure battery lasted about 3 years-is that normal? This one only two years. I will try to get it tested - thanks again. Albert
