Happened upon this site this evening and would just like to say hello. We bought an Autosleeper Mezan in 2004 when they first came out. If I say we were first time camper van buyers I can just hear the groans go up. It was a very steep learning curve.
Information on just about everything in the van was lacking. The lockable fresh water tank cap didn't work and needed to be replaced; the internal handle escucheons fell off; the internal window frame that held the blind/mosquito net was on upside down. These were all easily sorted out but the daddy of problems was a leaking fresh water tank - that was a nightmare.
The dealer was fantastic up to the point he received our money and then he didn't want to know. Anyhow, to cut a long, long story very short we got it sorted in the end.
We've had some fantastic trips in Daisy - Scotland and some of the islands, with yet another trip planned for up there in October; Switzerland; Several trips to France, including Haute Provence and the wonderful Gorge de Verdon, where a small van really came into its own. Plus, of course, all the short breaks we've had.
The rear sensors we had fitted eliminated the problem with the lack of a rear view mirror.
Looking forward to reading about everyone else's experiences.

Hi Mistie
Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear you've had so many problems with your Mezan, sadly there have been similar reports on here about Mezans but at least you've got them sorted and it sounds like you are having some wonderful adventures in your van.

Hi Misty!
My van is also called Daisy!
Although mine is a lot older, your story on things not working as they should sounds just like mine! Thankfully all sorted now and in May this year I went to the Outer Hebredes in her and had a great trip, no probs whatsoever! ;D ;D
Plenty of people on here who can help with problems, etc., have a great time in your new new home-from-home! ;D
