Hi all
Just got back from the main summer holiday thats if you could call it summer. left on the 3rd had heavy rain from Reading part way down the M4 cleared but murky started too rain after the bridge but cleared for a even stroll with my B in law & S in law we stopped with them in Pembrokeshire for a couple of nights.
Left on the Tues. raining took the scenic route too New Quay never saw a thing due to very low cloud & drizzle, found a site out side of New Quay "WERN MILL" rather crowded & facilities basic but cheap we had HU & hard standing for 2 nights £15 could only stop the 2 nights missed the dolphins at New Quay due too a heavy shower & we were having coffee & I only went there to see them.
Move on too the LLeyn Peninsula not too bad a trip couldn't find the site I wanted so booked in at "Llanystumdwy" C & C C site for one night the staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding a level pitch but it was booked for the rest of the week even if I had wanted to stay, there again I went that way just too go up Snowdon but the re-build of the cafe has been delayed.
We then moved on to Owesterly for a few nights a nice site but I thought the facilities were a bit poor only 1urinal & that was out of order which left 3 WC's & it's quite a large site.
Then we moved on too Hererford which again I thought the facilities were abit thin on the ground but both of the sites were clean & had quite a good bus route too local towns. We couldn't use our bus passes in Wales at all.
We had about 4 days with no rain & the rest of the 2 weeks it rained sometime during the day. We did about 8600 miles at a rough guess £154 for fuel for the Dimension.
One embarrassing thing happened we sleep on the singles & I use the LG I always seem too have my backside against the sliding door but for some unknown reason I fell out of bed towards the centre of the van & I was zipped into a mummy bag & couldn't move luckily the XYL was up making a port of call so she had too find the zip & release me but all in all we enjoyed the trip.
Regards
Pete
