Hello
We are looking at the possibility of a Roma Outlook. Please can you answer some questions.....
* How fast does it go on the m way?
* What speed is it comfortable cruising at?
* Is a wheel clamp required for Insurance purposes?
* What size is the side window?
* Is there an awning that can be put up by someone with disabilities?
* Does it come in automatic, or can a manual be converted to automatic?
That's all for now, thanks.

There is for sale an Outlook, by Tim & Kriss.
As far as I know no wheel clamps are required for insurance purposes, The Outlook, is on the Citroen Belingo, I have a 1999 C15 does 80mph no problem comfortable 50 -70mph returns 45 -50mpg
Good sized window, dont know about auto trans. others will be able to tell you.
Awning, depends on what your actual disability is..

The Berlingo is not available with an automatic option but Romahome have in the past had them modified. It is very expensive and may be no longer available. Speak to Neville at the Romahome Centre.
My 1.9 Duo Hylo cruised happily at motorway speeds, you will stay with the pack.
Good luck with your deliberations

Hi Boho,
The newer berlingo base vehicle's (such as the one I have for sale) have the 1.6 HDi diesel engine in 90bhp guise.
This is more than adequate to keep up a steady 70 on a motorway and if necessary get over that very easily to get out of trouble. More than comfortable cruising at any speed, very quiet at 70 too considering that you have all that open space behind you!!
Acceleration away from junctions is enough to spin the wheels if you have a heavy right foot so no issues with the engine at all.
I have never been asked for a wheel clamp and the van is insured through the camping and caravanning club at the moment so can only assume that it wouldn't be considered necessary for other companies (last insurer was Direct Line and only moved as they don't have a specific policy for motorhomes)
The side windows are 44" x 22" (112cm x56cm) and let loads of light in to the habitation area, along with the big Heki rooflight.
Awnings are very much personal choice. The one that Romahome supply is based on old style frame tents so has some quite heavy poles etc and is canvas. There are Movelite awnings that are thin material and have fibreglass poles so are much lighter but require some dexterity and strength of hand to hook the poles onto retaining pegs etc.
As Derek said standard Romahomes do not have an automatic option, although the gears are light and so is the clutch, but it is worth asking Romahome if they could supply an automatic if that is what you would need.
Hope this helps
Tim
