Is it possible to to fit a Fiamma awning (roll out awning sunshade sort of thing) on a Romahome Outlook? Or is it not possible on GRP bodywork?

I think you find that it is possible, but not recommended because the body of the van is curved. I did ask Ant, but he didnt recommend, but MartinW has fitted one on his vehicle.

Hi roamingsue, Joan is correct I have fitted an awning rail to each side of my van so that I can slide a Fiamma "Caravanstore" into the slot whichever side the sun is shinning. ;D The casing of the Caravanstore is flexible so it follows the slight curve of the van, and it is clipped either end with spring clips through little holes drilled into the rail to stop it sliding out while I am traveling. It is glued and bolted right through the GRP to the inside and is very firm, the rail I used was the "C" shape, but after I had fitted it I found out that you can get a "P" shape which would have made bolting it on very much easier. I am not going to say this next statement because you know what sods law says, but in 3 years it has not given any trouble and I don't see why it should now I'm not too sure about fitting the rigid type of role out awning because of the curve of the van and the amount of fixings required to make it a firm safe fit on the GRP Hope this is of some use to you Martin I have just niticed that if you look very carefully at my avata you can just about make out the awning on the side
