Hi Mike Nice to hear from Ya!!Yep I found this site totally by accident!
I couldnt make the Poole Meet I have to do catch up at home sometimes ;D It seemed very well attended was it @75 Bongos. I did manage to go to the following official Club Meets tho,Dent,Peebles,Stourport and Brecon they are good but I do think the member organised ones just have the edge.Whatever they are very enjoyable events anyway. If You ever get Ooop North or I reach Somerset We will have to meet up and compare notes!!
We from the NW Forum have two meets coming up very shortly one in Winsford Cheshire and one in Silverdale Im looking forward to them both.
Cheers Dabs

These pics are ace!
I wanted a Bongo (esp as they come in automatic) but couldn't afford one... However, I'm happy with what I did get at a price I could afford.
Glad you told me you were sleeping in the roof space - I was wondering where the bed was - fantastic aren't they.
I'll keep an eye out for you on Harris/Lewis in May - I'll be there 22nd-26th May - does that coincide with your dates? ;D

Hi JayJay Yes there will be three Bongos heading to the Isle of Lewis at that time. We start off by staying at Fort William for the Scottish Bongo Meet for the weekend and the carry on up to the ferry we have hired a house for the rest of the week on Lewis.
Keep an eye open for a Green one a Blue one and a Grey one oh and a converted LDV van (that belongs to the guy that lives on Lewis) Dabs

A few more piccies from a recent little meet we Bongo owners had up at Tan Hill on the yorkshire moors, its a whacky place but quite unique. We camped across the road within stumbling distance of the pub door LOL.It does have a car park to the side as well and a disused quarry area just a short walk away where you can stay as well, its worth a visit if you have never been!! Hi Dabs
We are on site at Christchurch in the Forest of Dean as I write this and there are two Bongos on site, I've never really noticed them before until I saw Mike's (Yamahas) but they do seem to be getting more popular.

Hi Graham Yes I agree they are catching on a bit. Bongo Fury now has well over 6000 members so I suppose Bongos are more popular than are first visible.A rough guestimate has been placed at over 20,000 Bongos in the UK,dont know how accurate this is but yes I for one can vouch for the popularity,in my honest opinion I think they are a bit cramped for a family but for a couple or single person they are ideal, mines been fantastic with very few problems you just have to watch the coolant system as its quite complicated with a lot of hoses to look after.Regular maintenance and observation can go a long way to a happy Bongo and owner. And of course as with this club its very freindly to be part of!! They do have quite a few rivals from the East in the Nissan Largo and El Grande,Toyota Granvia,Honda Stepwagon and the Toyota Estima all of which are great vehicles and of course imported into the UK but dont have the factory fitted option of the electric freetop as on the Bongo which is a big advantage in a camper. As an aside back in March I organised a Joint Day Meet at Tatton Park Cheshire between the Bongos,Largos and Estimas it was very well attended and received by all,it was interesting to have a look at each vehicle and see what people had done to them,it was a brilliant day!! Cheers Dabs
