When will this rain ever stop, we were hoping to go away this weekend, we haven't been able to go for a while, but by the look of the weather not sure we want to bother.
Anyone else going away?

Yep - it looks as though summer has left us!
Off to Shepton Mallet Showground one day this weekend, to the RV and Campervan Show. It's a big show, and loads camp there. At the moment, Friday seems a good'ish day.
We won't be camping there - it's only 25 miles away. Not looking to replace our lovely Bongo - but thinking of getting a wind-out Fiamma awning for it.
Anybody got any views on them - ie, are they useful - and worth the money, or have you one fitted and never use it?

Hi Please can you let me have a postcode for Shepton Mallet show I have a campervan to sell and this seems like it could be good advertising - will it?
Thanks

Hi Mike
Yes, we've got a fiamma on the Dimension and we do use it, we find it handy when its showery but warm and we want to sit out, also if we ever get any really sunny weather (ha ha) it makes a good sun shade. We've also used it to put wet clothes under to dry when its raining.
Not sure how much they cost to have fitted, ours was on the van when we got it.
Hope you enjoy the show.

Drive...to despair! Two girlfriends from Canada are here for the next three weeks so I'm taking them on a whiste-stop tour of the UK in the Tribby. First, North Norfolk and the wonderful Holkham Hall/beach, then Yorkshire, then, well....if it's still bloomin' raining I'm gonna talk them into going to the South of France! They've been waiting years to come visit Blighty and now that they've finally made it, all I can show them is where the hip waders are. Bummer dude! Wish they were surfers, then I could justify them being continuously soaked.
What CAN you do???

Jacquie What a shame, well lets hope the weather cheers up and you can give them a proper tour of Britain. We love North Norfolk, one of our favourite places, I'm sure they'll have a great time whatever the weather. Graham

Hi Doug
We've had a text from John and Wendy and apparently its been red hot the last few days.
Hope you have fun and get some good weather, if you manage to get online don't forget to put a post on the forum to make us all jealous. ;D

I hope to be playing with my dongle in France (that's the Vodafone one ;D) and if it works, my first post will be here.
Incidentally, we have a 4.00am ferry from Dover - anyone know what the overnight facilities are like at the Ferry Port? I mean is there any where to stay - we have all the other facilities with us, of course...

A lot of people in vans stay on Marine Drive which is very near the port, if you arrive after 6pm it will be free parking, you will probably see other motorhomes there, I am told its a bit noisy because its a main road but perfectly safe as the police patrol quite regularly.

Thanks for that. Maybe I'll post this as a separate topic and see if there are a few alternatives.
